Verbal Identity Specialist
Start Date: March 1st, duration TBD
Budget: Flat Rate, $10,000
Location: Remote / US, UK, Canada
Requirements:
Verbal ID should be your specialty with prior experience creating Verbal IDs for agencies or clients. We'll want to see 1–2 examples of previous Verbal ID work (shared via Zoom walkthrough or email) so we can get a feel for how you approach and present deliverables to clients.
We will respect your personal process for the best output and will look to you to further define the scope, timeline and deliverables, as needed.
Client: Relax the Back
Relax The Back is a 45-year-old wellness retailer with 65+ locations and premium partnerships (Casper, Tempur-Pedic, Herman Miller, Hyperice). They're undertaking a brand refresh to reach younger audiences, tell a richer brand story rooted in efficacy and trust, and reposition themselves as a modern wellness-meets-lifestyle brand.
Scope:
You'll kick off the rebrand with Verbal ID work and stakeholder interviews. Once the foundational verbal direction is approved, Visual ID will begin — and we'll collaborate closely on the first two client presentations so they can see both working together and provide feedback for revisions.
Project Deliverables:
A framework for what to say and how to say it. This document will outline key messages and hierarchy, from top-level ideas to value propositions and supporting messages.
Voice: High-level guidelines for how the brand expresses itself verbally, including voice and tone pillars.
Branded Language: Core brand ideas and the words and phrases the brand will use consistently.
Content Considerations: Guidelines around the kind of content we create.
Customer Journey: How does messaging shift by channel or by audience? Including written examples for key milestones.
